Draw-box mode: click and drag over anything you want permanently blacked out. Click-text mode: click a word/text run to redact just that run (only available where the PDF has selectable text). Use "Redact all matches" to black out every occurrence of a name, number or phrase across the whole document in one click.
Output file size
Every page is rebuilt as an image so the redactions are permanent — the setting below only controls how that image is compressed. It has no effect on security: the covered content is already gone before compression runs, so a smaller file cannot leak anything a larger one wouldn't.
